This is a letter from Joe Charlton, Prisoner of War, to his sister Madge (Cameron) in Berkshire , England.
Return address is PTE Joseph B Charlton. 3844681/P.O.W. No. 409/Camp H. Chosen. Korea/September 6 1943. There are 2 pieces of tape which have browned through the years. Writing is readable beneath the tape. Both taped areas are split most of its length. It looks like it has been stored in this flat condition for a long time. No envelope.
"I have been here since September 1942.....first letter I have been allowed to write....I am working every day except Sundays...."
